Walpole, MA – The Walpole Express are proud to announce that Head Coach Cody Campbell has been named EHL Coach of the Year.
Campbell becomes the first rookie Head Coach in EHL history to win the award, as well as the youngest ever recipient of EHL Coach of the Year.
“First, it is very humbling to receive this award knowing it is voted on by the other coaches in the league,” said Coach Campbell. “In a league that is full of great coaches, for my peers to feel that I was deserving of this is extremely humbling.”
“I would also be remiss if I didn’t thank my assistant Dylan Yameen for all of his work and Rob Barletta and Todd Stirling for giving me the opportunity to coach this team,” added Campbell. “And to my wife, Jessica, for her unwavering support while holding down the fort at home allowing me to put in the necessary time to help our players reach their max potential.“
“From my first interview with Cody I knew he was the one I wanted to lead our team. He is a players coach with a tremendous attitude and instilled a culture in our players that we are proud to have with the Express organization,” said Owner Rob Barletta. “Cody brought immense knowledge of the game and a dedication to help our players achieve their goals of playing college hockey, having helped 14 of his players commit to NCAA programs ranging from New England to the mid-West.”
In typical Cody Campbell fashion, he attributes the award to the team on the ice, ”Most importantly I want to make sure our players realize this is their award. I only encouraged the development of different aspects within our group. They are the ones that showed up each day, putting the work in to get better and push each other to reach their goals. I couldn’t be prouder of the work our guys put in this season, the culture that they built, and all that they accomplished.”
Please join the entire Express organization in congratulating the 2019-20 Coach of the Year, Cody Campbell.
