Walpole, MA – The Walpole Express are proud to announce the commitment of Cole Cavey to Gustavus Adolphus College. Gustavus is located in St. Peter, MN and competes in the MIAC. Cole will join teammates Patrick McDonald and Tim Lopez as the 3rd Express player to commit to Gustavus off the 2019-2020 Express roster.
“For me it’s always been student and then athlete. With Gustavus I could tell that they truly care about their players as students and the future that they are able to lead through schooling,” said Cavey about his decision to commit to Gustavus. “The hockey team and the coaching staff also develop their players to be the best they can be on the ice.“
Express Coach Cody Campbell spoke about Cole’s team first mentality, ”Cole was a solid player for us all season long. He bought in and accepted a role that completely put the team first and consistently was one of our best penalty killers and shot blockers. Gustavus is getting a first class person and player.”
Cavey touched on playing for Coach Campbell and how the Express program helps its players. ”Coach Campbell is able to reach players in a way that makes them play to another level and go physically beyond their capabilities. The Express program develops players so that they not only thrive in Junior hockey but also are highly exposed to NCAA programs.”
Cavey continued by thanking people that played a large role in making his dream of playing college hockey come true. “I also want to thank my parents for always sticking by my side and truly being my biggest heroes.”
Please join the entire Express organization in congratulating Cole on his NCAA College Commitment.
