Walpole, MA – Walpole Express Assistant Captain Chris Gratton has committed to SUNY Potsdam in Potsdam, NY for the fall of 2018. The 6’2, 200 lbs. defenseman from Pottstown, PA is a smooth skating defenseman who brings a lot of versatility to the back end. Chris is a a big get for the Bears who play in the very competitive SUNYAC Conference.
“Chris came to us via the North Jersey Avalanche and has developed a tremendous amount in 2 seasons,” said Coach Lounsbury. “He is a huge reason why we are having the success we are this season. Chris’s ability to skate and read the play will make him an impact college player from day one.”
In 28 games this season Gratton posted 3 goals and 10 assists for 13 points on the blue line.
“I would like to thank my family for giving me the opportunity to chase my dream of playing NCAA hockey. I would also like to thank Coach Lounsbury and the Walpole Express for helping me become the player I am today. I am very excited to become a bear in the fall,” said Gratton.
