Walpole, MA – Charlestown, MA native Will Ahearn, in his second season with the Walpole Express, has committed to Worcester State University in the very competitive MASCAC for the fall of 2018. Ahearn, a 20 year old power forward, was a key contributor to the Express during their best season in the last several years. Ahearn netted 11 goals through 44 games this season.
“Will was a staple to our line up this season. He played every bit of his 6’3 frame and was an every situation player for us,” said Coach Jon Lounsbury. “Will is truly one of the hardest working players I have coached and there is no doubt in my mind that he will have a lot of success at the next level. Will’s commitment on and off the ice is second to none.”
“Playing for the Walpole Express for the past two seasons has really helped me reach my goal of playing college hockey,” said Ahearn. “I would not only like to thank the Walpole Express organization, but also my past coaches, friends and family for supporting me through this process. I certainly wouldn’t be in this position without them. I’m excited to see what the next level has in store for me. Go Lancers!”
The Express would like to wish Will and his family best of luck next season at Worcester State.
